Important Security Announcement for Non DoD Guests - You must pick up your pass at the Residence Inn Annapolis before proceeding to a security gate at the Naval Academy. A wedding coordinator will be standing outside in front of the Inn ready to hand you your pass. Residence Inn Annapolis200 Taylor Ave, Annapolis, MD 21401 After you get your pass you have to sign the pass (bring a pen!) and then present the pass and your passport or U.S. driver's license to the gate guard at the Academy. Gate 8 is a 7min drive from the Residence Inn. If you do not arrive at the Residence Inn by 13:00 on Saturday there is a high likelihood you will miss the ceremony. The doors close at 13:30!

Our Wedding

How we met

In October 2014, a simple “Привет” on a dating site sparked a connection that crossed a language barrier. We dated until May 2015, and then Christopher left for flight school. Seven years later, fate reunited us at Naval Air Station Patuxent River—he as a test pilot at NAVAIR, I as a data analyst at FRC—realizing we had been working side by side all along. That reunion rekindled what had always been there. In 2024 we got engaged and had a meaningful court marriage, and now we’re excited to celebrate our wedding on May 30, 2026, at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis with family and friends. We are grateful for every twist that brought us back together.

Engagement 

On June 2, 2024, at the beautiful Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania, Chris planned a truly unforgettable proposal. With Orysia’s mom and Chris’s parents there to witness the moment, everything felt magical. As they walked through the gardens, a plane suddenly appeared in the sky, trailing a banner that read, “Will you marry me?”

Court Marrige

On August 2, 2024, in a simple ceremony at St. Mary’s Court in California, Maryland, we officially became husband and wife. Surrounded by love and joy, we celebrated our commitment in an intimate setting—marking the beginning of our lifelong journey together.

Our life now

Japan had always been a place we wanted to visit—and maybe even live there. In April 2024, we explored its vibrant cities, serene landscapes, and rich culture, falling more in love with every region we visited. By September, Christopher’s new job at Naval Air Facility Atsugi brought us back—and this time, to stay. We’ve been captivated by everything Japan has to offer, from its bustling streets and historic temples to its quiet natural beauty. Every day is an adventure, and we can’t wait to see how much more of this incredible country we’ll discover.

United States Navel Academy Chapel Wedding

Address: 121 Blake Rd, Annapolis, MD SECURITY UPDATE FOR NON-DOD AND FOREIGN NATIONALS: Thank you for filling out those 5512 forms! Everyone passed the security check. Those forms allow you to have a full, unescorted visitor's pass on the campus for Friday and Saturday. You must receive your pass from us before you can drive onto the yard. Please let us know when you will be arriving and we will let you know where to meet a family member to get your pass. When you drive onto the campus, security will ask you to provide the forms of identification you used for the 5512 form as well as the security pass (driver's license, foreign passport, ect.) DOD Personnel: You are not affected by the security update as long as you bring your CAC. HOWEVER, the trusted traveler program is not in effect, so your spouse must also carry their dependent card to be granted access on base. Plan to arrive early to the Navel Academy as it could take time to get through security. You will be able to drive through Gate 8 after providing security with an ID. A REAL ID Compliant Driver’s License or State ID card (look for the five point star on the driver’s license) is required. U.S. Passports &amp; Passport Cards are also accepted. Park along Blake Road or in the Academy's parking garage (Next to the Academy Club in Googlemaps). Parking at the Navel Academy is free. The Chapel will seat guests from 1:15 pm to 1:50 pm.The Wedding Ceremony begins promptly at 2:00 pm and ends promptly at 2:30 pm. After the ceremony, six swordsman will form a Sword Arch outside the Chapel doors for the bride and groom to pass through. If you are staying at the Baltimore Marriot Camden Yards, plan to give yourselves at least 1.5 hour to drive to the hotel, park in the garage, check in at the front desk, and walk onto the bus that's waiting outside the front door which will take you to the Peabody Library for the Reception. The first bus leaves the Marriott at 4:30 PM. The second bus leaves at 5:00 PM. The bus will be shuttling guests back and forth between the two locations all night. Cocktail hour begins at 5:00 pm. After the wedding ceremony, you are free to walk around the Naval Academy. Sword Arch

The U.S. Navy has its roots in the British Royal Navy, and as such, has retained some of the traditions of that institution. One such tradition is the Arch of Swords, also known as the Sword Arch or Saber Arch— always known as a special military “salute” to the couple that has just been married. It’s a powerful symbol that pledges loyalty and protection to the couple, and welcomes them into the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps family.

Address: 17 E Mt Vernon Pl, Baltimore, MD From the Naval Academy, give yourself at least an hour to drive to the George Peabody Library in Baltimore. Parking is limited around the library. Park at the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards parking garage , 405 W Lombard St, Baltimore, MD. Before you enter the parking garage, go to the front desk and let the front desk know you are parking with the Pyrtyk-Dunn wedding. The front desk will provide a parking pass to use to enter the garage. We have already taken care of the parking fee as long as you get the pass before you enter the garage. If you enter the garage prior to getting a pass, you will be required to pay the higher advertised parking rate and will not be eligible for a discount. Your car may remain overnight whether or not you stay at the Marriott. There will be a white shuttle bus to take guests to and from the front of the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards to the Peabody Library. Cocktail hour begins at 5:00 pm. The reception begins at 6:00 pm and ends at 11:00 pm. There will be drinks and hors d'oeurvres during cocktail hour. Afterwards there will be a sit down dinner, open bar, DJ, photo booth, and dancing. The library building opened in 1878 and was designed by Baltimore architect Edmund G. Lind, in collaboration with the Peabody Institute’s first provost, Dr. Nathaniel H. Morison. The stack room contains five tiers of ornamental cast-iron balconies, which rise dramatically to the skylight 61 feet above the floor. The library contains 300,000 volumes, mainly from the 19th century, with strengths in religion, British art, architecture, topography and history; American history, biography, and literature; Romance languages and literature; history of science; and geography, exploration, and travel.

After the ceremony, guests will drive to the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor and park in their covered parking garage. If you are staying at the hotel, we recommend leaving USNA at 3:00 PM. The address of the hotel parking garage is: Marriott Inner Harbor - LAZ Parking - Medco405 W Lombard St, Baltimore, MD 21201 Before you enter the parking garage, go to the front desk and let the front desk know you are parking with the Pyrtyk-Dunn wedding. The front desk will provide a parking pass to use to enter the garage. We have already taken care of the parking fee as long as you get the pass before you enter the garage. If you enter the garage prior to getting a pass, you will be required to pay the higher advertised parking rate and will not be eligible for a discount. Your car may remain overnight whether or not you stay at the Marriott. There will be a white shuttle bus waiting at the hotel entrance to transport guests to the Peabody Library. The shuttle will run for the duration of the reception. The first bus departure from the Marriott is at 4:30 PM. The second bus leaves at approximately 5:00.

Room rate: $179 per night plus state and local taxes (currently 17.5%). Bridal party and close family will be staying at this hotel. You are welcome to book here as well — we recommend it because the hotel provides a shuttle to the reception, so if you plan on drinking you won’t need to worry about transportation. Please make reservations by April 15 to secure the group rate.

After Party

We will host an after party on a charter boat in Baltimore Harbor for about two hours. Snacks will be provided and there will be a cash bar onboard. Please bring a jacket in case of a cool breeze on the water at night. After the cruise ends, the boat will return to the inner harbor pier near the hotel or stop at Fell's Point.

On Sunday, May 31 at 12:00 PM, we will be hosting a farewell brunch at The Bygone, a beautiful rooftop restaurant overlooking the Baltimore skyline and harbor. We would love for guests to join us for one last chance to relax, enjoy the views, and spend time together before the weekend concludes. The cost will be approximately $85 per person.
